"NANOTECTURE: TINY BUILT THINGS" | Pretty excited to be part of Rebecca Roke's new book
We're super flattered to have the Hello House included in Rebecca Roke's fab new book, Nanotecture. Phaidon describes it as the most wide-ranging, comprehensive and inclusive book on small-scale architecture ever published. Have a look at the BBC News Magazine to get a taste of the great projects featured in the book.
We couldn't agree more. Small doesn't mean trivial, inadequate or inconsequential. Perhaps small can be a statement in itself.
As Australia begins to grasp the real cost of our bloaty, gloaty suburbs, we need to prioritise quality rather than quantity of space. More space won't make rubbish building any better... in fact, it's probably that stubborn, graspy insistence on "more space" that made it so rubbish in the first place. We could afford to put twice the care into half the space.
Huge thanks again to our lovely clients at the Hello House for their enthusiasm, collaboration and generosity of spirit to make a house not only for themselves but also for their neighbourhood.
Nanotecture will be available in Australia + New Zealand from 20 May. Eager beavers can pre-order directly from Phaidon HERE.
