“Iconic St Kilda music venue The Espy is set to reopen after its rooftop terrace planning permit was finally given the green light”
9 Dec marathon final council meeting of the year at the City of Port Phillip grants the permit for the Espy renos. The Age & others still trying to beat up a story about the residents delaying the permit when it had nothing to do with them. St Kilda Live Music Community seem very positive about the future prospects for live music which is hopeful. On other fronts such as the heritage value of the building... not so sure yet. There are several important conditions on the permit including the need for further clarification of the ridiculously low new ceiling (2.1m) in the lobby - let's see what they say.
